A website built to record the long lists of insults and grossly insensitive things President Ruto’s advisor David Ndii has said to the Kenyans whose taxes pay him and fund his office.
Introductory Note
My name is Cecil Abungu and this is my personal project. I decided to work on it because I strongly believe David Ndii has profoundly harmed the national psyche and we shouldn’t tolerate it.
As psychological research has shown for ages, words have an impact on people. David Ndii’s words and tone have inflamed an already long-suffering populace and he needs to be removed from his position. There is no mature democracy where a taxpayer-funded Presidential Advisor would still be in a state job after talking to citizens the way Ndii does. By creating a permanent record of his insults, I hope that this website will be one step towards holding him accountable.
Also
Cherry Makena has helped me to find the information you’ll see on the website. She’s a recently-graduated law student who’s terrific – very intelligent and highly public spirited – and you should def look out for her content or try to hire her for legal or other work. We’ve also received some submissions from Kenyans of good will (too many to each mention) and we’re very grateful to them.
SETTING THE SCENE
Let’s start with him engaging with Ruto to “advance democracy and rule of law” jaja
Apparently, he didn’t want to work for govt
Or did he?
He clearly understood how he’d be judged when he wasn’t sucking taxpayers’ tits
And here he is showing an understanding of how public officials (which he is now) should be judged
And here he is confirming just how much his current office is sucking taxpayers’ tits
SO WE SHOULD CERTAINLY JUDGE HIM LIKE A PUBLIC OFFICIAL NOW
Anyway, let’s continue…
You might be wondering why he does what he does. Here he is admitting his ultimate love, the thing that fuels him most
Wanna see more about what motivates him?
But surely, he cares about the poor? Well, let’s see what he thinks about that
What about corruption?
Hmm, here he is being clear that he and the Ruto campaign were delighted to live with it
Wait, could he really have been…unapologetically pro-corruption?
Let’s have a look
Okay that sucks. So, what does Ndii think about the young people of Kenya?
Hmm, let’s see
What about the millennials of Kenya?
Okay we need a break. Let’s look at a more relaxed day in Ndii-verse
Occasionally, he is made to look utterly stupid – which is great to see
He seems to think his “public intellectual” role is completely separate from his public office role
Which is obviously not true. Once you’re a public officer, Chapter 6 of the Constitution applies to you in full. Your public-facing behavior has to be assessed wholesomely.
TAXPAYER-FUNDED NDII
We return to the story with Ndii having now started his TAXPAYER-funded position. What’s new? Well, here he is shit talking one citizen
Defending the UNCONSTITUTIONAL CAS position
And responding to the concerns of another citizen about what else that ^ money could do for the country
Hey, did you know you could be a cow if you asked him the right questions?
And a cow again
OR even a warthog?
The abuse never really stops
EVER, really
And if you thought someone singing his praises would be spared, think again
How does he feel about inflicting economic pain on the populace? Well, check that
That was heavy so let’s take a short break with this one
Here he is telling us that he’s a god
And here he is, still struggling to grasp that he’s now a public officer
And telling us what he thinks about politicians living large on Kenyans’ backs
It’s 2024, he’s now a public officer but you know what hasn’t changed?
Here he is doing what he does best: Telling us we have no right to have any expectations of a govt that we pay taxes to support
And here he is, actively listening to the complaints and cries of the hustlers he serves
Now let’s see what Ndii thinks about police brutality
Okay but he definitely cares if people are dying right?
Well, let’s see
Okay so all this really sucks. But what does Ndii think about the death of Kenyans in situations where the state is at least partly responsible?
Over and above that, he apparently still doesn’t understand that he’s a public officer paid by taxpayers
And here is being—frankly—sickening
Ndii’s mockery of the country’s youth reached a nadir recently, and we know how that went!
Let’s start with the mockery
Mocking Hanifa relentlessly
Mocking “cool kids”
We all know how that went
But guess who still thinks he’s done a great job?
The mockery never stopped though – back to default settings quickly
Deep inside we know he was shocked by the scale of the protests
Here he is trying to cope by giving unsolicited advice to protesters
Still really struggling to cope, this time by venturing into conspiracy theories
More cope
Even more cope by introducing the Sudan angle
And trying to have us recall the things he did in 1855
YET still not realizing that he’s now a public officer
I hope this convinces you that this man has no place in any public office. Some might say he’s very a great economist, but we are a country with lots of talent. We need to respect ourselves enough to reject him. In conclusion, I have 3 steps forward for you:
